Terms of Service
Last updated: August 25, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Tabi mobile application and related services (the “Service”), operated by Tabi (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Tabi is a tool that helps groups record shared expenses, split bills, and calculate optimized settlements. Tabi is an organizational and calculation aid only. Tabi does not process, hold, or transfer money, and is not a bank, payment processor, or financial institution. Any actual payments between users happen outside the Service.
2. Eligibility & Accounts
- You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use Tabi.
- You are responsible for the information you provide and for keeping your account credentials secure.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose;
- upload content that infringes others’ rights or violates any law;
- add another person’s details or contacts without a lawful basis to do so;
- attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems;
- misuse the Service in a way that harms Tabi or other users.
4. Your Content
You retain ownership of the content you submit (such as expense details and receipt images). You grant Tabi a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, process, and display that content solely to operate and provide the Service to you and the participants in your events. You are responsible for the accuracy of the expenses and balances you record.
5. Expense Calculations
Tabi computes balances and suggested settlements based on the information you and other participants enter. These calculations are provided for convenience and may depend on the accuracy of your inputs (including receipt scanning results). You are responsible for reviewing and agreeing on any amounts before settling. Tabi is not liable for disputes over who owes whom.
6. Third-Party Services
The Service may integrate with third parties, such as Google Sign-In and the Apple App Store. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Our use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, as described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its name, logo, mascots, design, and software, is owned by Tabi and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our branding without our prior written permission.
8. Termination
You may stop using Tabi and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that calculations will be free of inaccuracies caused by input errors.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tabi and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or amounts related to payments or settlements between users, arising from your use of the Service.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
